MyRockinProfile is Web 2.0 Social Music Site focused on rewarding its members with interactivity & participation. Music fans vote for their favorite bands and earn miles (On-line currency) for each vote! Bands turn their miles into valuable Marketing & Street team Goodies. Everyone can use their miles to play contests, shop for cool stuff and more to come. Miles are easy to earn with almost any type of user activity. Users TAG their profile with an Industry title (producer, label etc...) enabling people to network with exactly the people they want to. Bands that land in the TOP 10 get automatic exposure right on our 3D Carousel, scouted by major & Indie Labels & Music Score Supervisors AND get permanently archived & given Banner/Widget code for their award star. This site works well with MySpace bands & other Music Communities. This site is the only music site where users also get to vote on the site itself. 4. Voting- How does it work?
The voting is based on the # of votes made by registered fans and artists. The voting begins on the 1st of the month (12am) and ends on the last day of the month (12am).
5. TOP 10 (current month) - where is it & what do I win?
The TOP 10 are posted in the carousel of the homepage. An MRP star is awarded to the artist with the highest # of votes in the TOP 10. We may even put you in contact with a major label we deal with.
6. Battle of the Bands- How does it work?
Lee & Rockit (MRP founders) will pick their favorite artist/band every month. A new selection will be made at the start of each month and will generally be based on the following criteria: talent, effort, originality, and charisma.
7. Live ticker- How does it work?
The live ticker is a LIVE counter that keeps tracks of all the votes being casted throughout the day and their origin.
8-Quick Registration- What does it include? You need to register in order to vote. This is a basic registration in order for us to make sure you are a human and not a bot.
9. Full Registration membership- What does it include?
Your own personal profile. By voting you will accumulate miles you can trade in for Merch & services offered in our MRP Store! + MRP monthly newsletter with site updates and promotions to members only. You will have access to the miles for activites like Contests. You will be able to post blogs, create polls, stories & ADD many things to your profile including favorite bands etc...
10. Voter miles. What are they? They are points that are given to Bands, Fans and every registered member on our site for simply performing basic actions on our site like voting for a band, giving us music industry statistical information and easily interacting with the site's feature like Polls & Contest participation.
Give me an example. O.K Eva votes for her favorite unsigned band, Ladies Of The Canyon. She will get 1 mile per vote. The band will also get 1 more per vote obtained. This created a great mutually beneficial relationship between band & fan. Bands can use these miles against Marketing & Street team activities. Fans can donate miles to bands or other members. Everyone can use these miles to shop in the MRP store filled with services, concert tickets, bands merch, CDs, electronics & neat gadgets. What is their value? For each action performed you get 1 Mile, (1 point). As soon as you accumulate 100 miles, you have 1 MRP site token. Every time you log-in, you will see how many miles/tokens you have accumulated. You accumulate them every month and although the votes get re-set, your miles add up continuously. You can redeem them in the 5 following ways:
1 Use them at the STORE for discounts 2 Donate them to another band or member 3 Purchase Marketing or Street team services for your bands 4 Try your luck at the double or nothing MRP virtual Casino (soon) 5 Save them up until you qualify for free stuff from MRP!
Are these miles really worth something?
We make sure that your miles are an attractive incentive for you to keep coming back to our site so we make it very easy for you to redeem them. A good month of daily voting & site activity and you should already qualify for Stuff! When you log-in, we will tell you how many miles you have and what some of your options are.
Exciting promotions and discounts will be communicated to you as long as you're registered for the basic free membership.

11. What if I don't register?
You can visit the site and submit an artist or band. However you will not be able to vote, accumulate miles or participate in MRP contests. As well, you will not be updated on new features and promotions available to our members.
12. Captchas- Why?
Captchas are necessary to prevent the voting from being rigged through bots and other cheating methods. Your 1st initial login into your account you will be asked to enter a Captcha. We made an easy Captcha, all u need to know is basic English!
13. How can I invite my friends to view my page, pics or blogs?
Send them the link of your page (url will appear when you are logged in).
14. What is a profile?
This is a member's home base on the MRP site. From here artists manage their page, fans share blogs and people add their pics & favorites like most social communities...
15. I can't log in. I know I registered, what's up?
You should have received a verification email shortly after signing up with instructions on verifying (it's simple, just the click of a link). If you did not receive this, first check your junk box or spam folder and make sure it did not accidentally end up there.
16. How do I change my band's genre or the email addresses we have listed?
Click on "Edit Profile" under your picture on your artist profile page.
17. How do I upload photos to my artist profile page?
Click the "Photos" Tab on your artist profile page and then click "New Photo" and follow the on-screen instructions.
19. My profile name- It's being used by someone else! What do I do?
Send an email to squatters@myrockinprofile.com and let us know what you would like us to do.
Myrockinprofile.com (MRP) General Voting Conditions for Fans & bands:
1.You must be a member or a quick registered member of MRP to vote for your favorite artist and/or band.
2. All votes are to be casted online from the 1st day of the month (12am ET) through to the closing day of the month (11h59pm ET).
3. A band or artist may only be submitted once in the general voting once per month.
4. In case of a tie between 2 (two) different artists and/or bands the last vote casted will put that artist/band ahead of the other 1 (one) which had the same number of votes.
5. The vote is intended as a contest of musical artist popularity and the organized solicitation of votes for other purposes may result in those votes being discounted or the relevant artist being disqualified.
6. MRP reserves the right to discount any votes which it judges to be made outside the rules of the contest and to disqualify an artist for whom such votes are cast.
7. MRP reserves the right to cancel this vote, if deemed necessary in its opinion, or if circumstances arise which are out of the MRP's control.
9. Voters will be deemed to have accepted these rules and to agree to being bound by them by casting a vote.
10. The artist/band who receives the largest vote within the rules of the contest are declared the winner.
11. MRP is not responsible for and shall not be liable for: Any inaccurate information associated with the submission portion of the Contest, whether caused by Website users, tampering, hacking, or any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the voting portion of the Contest. MRP can only control the display of results, not the creation of them.
12. MRP reserves the right, in It's sole discretion, to modify, cancel, terminate, or suspend all or any portion of the voting portion of this Contest should fraud, virus, bugs, unauthorized human intervention, systems malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other causes beyond the control of MRP to corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper play or conduct of the voting portion of the Contest.
